Starland District Neighborhood Guide

Starland District has become Savannah's most creatively charged neighborhood, built around a walkable stretch of Bull Street corridor where indie galleries, craft beer gardens, and vintage shops occupy the kinds of low-slung buildings that artists and small business owners tend to find before everyone else does. Roughly bounded by Bull Street to the west, Waters Avenue to the east, and 37th Street down toward DeRenne Avenue, the neighborhood grew out of a grassroots arts scene and still carries that energy in its coffee shops, open studios, and weekend markets. The people who live here tend to be working creatives, not just aspirational ones, and the neighborhood reflects that in its unpretentious, slightly worn-in character. Rent has climbed steadily as Starland's reputation has spread, and parking remains a genuine frustration, but for residents who can live without a garage and within walking distance of most of what they need, it remains one of Savannah's more rewarding places to put down roots.
