At Snappy Scout, we believe you deserve to know exactly how your information is handled. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit https://www.snappyscout.com, how we use it, and with whom we may share it.
By using our website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have any questions, please reach out through our contact page or by emailing us at help@snappyscout.com.
About Snappy Scout
Snappy Scout is a US-based moving guide and relocation resource. Our office is located at 34990 Emerald Coast Pkwy #300, Destin, FL 32541, United States. References to "we," "us," or "our" throughout this policy refer to Snappy Scout.
Information We Collect
We only collect information that is necessary to provide our services and improve your experience on the site.
Information you provide directly
- Contact form: When you reach out to us, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send.
- Moving quote requests: Our moving quote tool collects more detailed information in order to match you with movers in your area. This includes your full name, email address, and phone number; your origin and destination cities, states, and ZIP codes; your planned move date; the size and contents of your home (number of rooms, large items); any special requirements such as packing assistance or stair access; and the moving companies you choose to receive a quote from.
Before your quote request is submitted, we send a one-time verification code (OTP) to your phone number to confirm your identity. As you fill out the form, your progress is saved temporarily in your browser so you don't lose it if you navigate away. This draft data stays on your device and is only transmitted to us when you complete and submit the form.
Information collected automatically
When you browse our site, we automatically receive certain technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and how long you spend on them. This helps us monitor site performance and understand how our content is being used. Our analytics tools may also derive your approximate location from your IP address.
Interactive tools
Our Neighborhood Quiz and similar interactive features do not ask for your name or contact information. Quiz interactions are tracked through our analytics tools to help us understand engagement. If any free-text fields are included, our system automatically screens submissions to avoid transmitting personal details to those tools.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your messages and inquiries
- To process your moving quote request and connect you with the moving companies you selected
- To verify your phone number before submitting a quote request on your behalf
- To analyze site traffic and improve our content and user experience
- To maintain the security and performance of the site
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters, and we will not contact you for purposes unrelated to your request.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only in the following specific circumstances:
- Moving companies you select: When you submit a moving quote request, your contact details and move information are shared with the companies you have chosen so they can provide you with quotes.
- Analytics providers: We use third-party analytics services to understand how visitors use our site. These services may collect IP-based location data and general browsing behavior. No personally identifiable information is shared with these providers beyond what is collected automatically during your visit.
- Email delivery: Contact form messages are delivered to our team through a third-party transactional email service. Your information is used solely for that delivery purpose.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or a legitimate request from a public authority.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before such a transfer takes place.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies — small files stored in your browser — to keep the site functioning correctly and to understand how visitors engage with our content. Cookies we use include essential cookies (required for the site to work), preference cookies (to remember your settings), and analytics cookies (to measure traffic and performance).
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies at any time, though some site features may not function as expected if you do so.
Analytics
We use third-party analytics services to monitor and analyze how visitors use our site. These services collect data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and general browsing behavior. Some of this data may be used to derive your approximate location from your IP address. The information gathered is used solely to improve our content and user experience and is not used to personally identify you.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed — to respond to your inquiry, fulfill your quote request, or meet any applicable legal obligations. Once it is no longer required for those purposes, it is deleted.
Data Security
We take the protection of your personal information seriously and apply commercially reasonable security measures to safeguard it. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have any concerns, please contact us immediately.
Children's Privacy
Snappy Scout is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through our site, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Links to Third-Party Websites
Our site may contain links to external websites that operate under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies before sharing any personal information.
