South Hills Neighborhood Guide
South Hills is one of Morgantown's more established residential neighborhoods, tucked between Greenmont and Sabraton along Green Bag Road and bordered by Marilla Park. The area has long attracted WVU faculty and medical professionals from the nearby WVU Medicine campus, and that history shows in the housing stock: substantial older homes with wraparound porches, maintained yards, and tree-lined streets that offer some of the better scenic views in the city. It has the feel of a neighborhood where people put down real roots, with walkable streets and front porches that actually get used. The main tradeoff is terrain, since the steep driveways that give many homes their elevated views turn into a genuine winter hazard when January ice arrives.
