Sandbridge is a narrow barrier island community tucked along the southeastern edge of Virginia Beach, flanked by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the marshes and canals of Back Bay to the west, with Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park forming a largely undeveloped buffer to the south.
