Moving to Virginia Beach?
Ocean air, jet noise, bay trails, flood insurance. Begin with the Virginia Beach moving choices that shape daily life.

Is Virginia Beach Actually Right for You?
Virginia Beach offers real coastal life with trade offs like humid summers, jet noise, flood risk and higher insurance rates, seasonal crowds and Shore Drive or the I-64-I-264 interchange traffic, plus pricier homes by the ocean but saner budgets inland. People still come for the beaches and bay, First Landing trails, seafood and craft beer, pockets of top schools and steady military jobs, and a relaxed outdoor culture that outweighs the headaches.

An Underrated Outdoor Spot
Rent a kayack or stand up paddleboard and head to the boat ramp at the 64th Street entrance to First Landing State Park. Here you can enjoy the flat water of the Narrows and into Broad Bay. There is also a nice little sandy beach for the kids to enjoy.
