Kamm's Corners Neighborhood Guide

Kamm's Corners sits in Cleveland's far west side where Lorain Avenue meets Rocky River Drive, a neighborhood that has held its identity firmly through decades of change. It draws heavily from its Irish-American roots, most visibly each May when The Hooley festival takes over Lorain Avenue, and year-round at anchors like P.J. McIntyre's Irish Pub and West Park Station. The neighborhood has a strong civic backbone, with a notable concentration of police, fire, and city workers who tend to take the upkeep of their blocks seriously, and the recently landmarked Kamm's Building at the main intersection adds a layer of architectural history to what is otherwise a proudly functional place. Direct access to the Rocky River Reservation and the Metroparks trail system gives residents a green edge that most urban neighborhoods cannot offer at this distance from downtown. Proximity to Cleveland Hopkins Airport is the one consistent tradeoff, but for people who want a stable, rooted, close-knit corner of the city, Kamm's Corners consistently delivers.

Hooley Hangovers, Metropark Sunsets, and Civil Service Pride

🧭The Boundaries: Bounded by the Rocky River Reservation to the west, the Fairview Park line to the north, W. 150th St to the east, and Puritas Ave to the south.

📌Well known for: The Hooley, a massive Irish festival that turns Lorain Avenue into a sea of green every May. It’s also home to the historic Kamm’s Building at the corner of Lorain and Rocky River Dr, which recently received landmark status to protect its 1900-era charm. For food, you’ve got West Park Station for game days and P.J. McIntyre’s Irish Pub for when you need a Guinness that tastes like it was poured in Dublin.

👕Spot a Local By: People who wear Browns jerseys to weddings and consider a "marathon" to be a 12-hour stint at the St. Patrick's Day parade.

👍Move here for: You live here because of the "stubborn Cleveland loyalty." You get immediate access to the Metroparks trails, a calendar full of block parties, and a feeling of safety that’s hard to find this close to the city core.

👎Don't say we didn't warn you about: The "Airport Hum." You’re close enough to Cleveland Hopkins that you can almost read the tail numbers on the jets overhead.

Kamm's Corners Neighborhood DNA

Late pints, early tee times, and anyone whose dream home is a sturdy brick bungalow with a flag bracket already installed. It’s the unofficial headquarters for Cleveland’s police, fire, and municipal workers, meaning the grass is cut, the sidewalks are clear, and the neighborhood watch is... very literal.
