AsiaTown Neighborhood Guide

AsiaTown is Cleveland's most culinarily dense neighborhood, a compact stretch between E. 30th and E. 55th Streets where decades of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean businesses have built something genuinely irreplaceable. Asia Plaza anchors the commercial core, home to Li Wah's beloved dim sum service and surrounded by spots for pho, ramen, bubble tea, and Koko Bakery's cult-favorite pastries. The neighborhood draws regulars from across the region, and the summer Night Market events bring that energy out onto the street in a way that makes the place hard to forget. Residents get easy access to Downtown, unusually spacious loft-style housing, and the kind of walkable food culture most Cleveland neighborhoods can only approximate. The tradeoff is parking, which tightens considerably on weekends and during major cultural celebrations like Lunar New Year.

Li Wah Carts, Koko Puffs, and Superior Glow

🧭The Boundaries: E. 30th St. to the west, E. 55th St. to the east, St. Clair Ave. to the north, and Perkins Ave. to the south.

📌Well known for: The Asia Plaza and Li Wah, where the dim sum carts are legendary. You’ve also got Koko Bakery (get the Koko Puffs, thank me later) and the Night Market Cleveland events in the summer. It’s the unofficial headquarters for the best pho, ramen, and bubble tea in the Midwest.

👕Spot a Local By: Someone carrying a reusable tote bag overflowing with lychees, dragon fruit, and three different types of fish sauce.

👍Move here for: You’re minutes from Downtown and surrounded by the best food in the city. The lofts here are massive, often featuring high ceilings and actual industrial elevators.

👎Don't say we didn't warn you about: Parking nightmares. During Lunar New Year or a busy Saturday morning, finding a spot is like playing a high-stakes game of Tetris.
