West Boulevard Neighborhood Guide
Porch Swings, Stately Medians, and Lakewood Envy
🧭The Boundaries: W. 117th St to the west (the Lakewood border), W. 105th St to the east, Madison Ave and the RTA Red Line to the north, and Clark Ave/I-71 to the south.
📌Well known for: The actual West Boulevard, a scenic, tree-lined thoroughfare designed by the same folks who did the Cultural Gardens. It’s famous for massive front porches and the Halloran Park skating rink. For food, you are in the "Pierogi Triangle," within striking distance of some of the best Eastern European and Latino carry-outs in the city.
👕Spot a Local By: A local who keeps their porch furniture out until February just to prove a point and knows the RTA Red Line is the fastest way to the airport.
👍Move here for: You live here because you can get to the airport in 10 minutes and Downtown in 15. The houses are sturdy, the yards are decent, and you get a "diverse, classic Cleveland" energy that feels like a real neighborhood.
👎Don't say we didn't warn you about: Snowplows discovering the virtue of patience. Because of the wide boulevards and side streets, you might be waiting a bit after a lake-effect dump.
