South Congress, known locally as SoCo, is one of Austin's most recognizable corridors, running south from Lady Bird Lake through a stretch of neon-lit storefronts, live music venues, and independent restaurants that have defined the city's funky identity for decades. The neighborhood's boundaries roughly span from the lake down through Oltorf, between South 1st and I-35, and its walkable main strip draws both residents and visitors to spots like Home Slice Pizza, Jo's Coffee, and the Continental Club, a honky-tonk that has anchored the local music scene since the 1950s.
