Ozone Park Neighborhood Guide

Ozone Park is a working-class Queens neighborhood that has held its character while much of the borough around it has changed. It sits in the southwestern corner of Queens, bounded by the Belt Parkway to the south and Woodhaven Boulevard to the east, with the Aqueduct Racetrack and its Resorts World Casino giving the neighborhood an anchor that few others in the city can claim. Liberty Avenue runs through the heart of it, lined with bakeries, old-school shops, and the kind of pizza that locals consider self-evident. The neighborhood is genuinely residential in a way that means backyards, Sunday dinners, and longtime neighbors, and the main tradeoff is a constant soundtrack of aircraft on final approach to JFK. It does not get much attention from the broader city conversation, which, depending on your priorities, is either the downside or the whole point.
