Orchidlands is a sprawling rural subdivision in lower Puna, carved out of dense jungle between Highway 130 and Old Volcano Road, where large lots come at prices rarely seen elsewhere on the island. The trade-off is real: roads can be rough, rain is relentless, and staying comfortable here means being genuinely handy and comfortable with mud. What draws people is the space itself, with room for fruit trees, privacy, and a version of Big Island life that feels genuinely off the beaten path rather than just adjacent to it.
