East Biloxi Neighborhood Guide

East Biloxi occupies the eastern tip of the Biloxi peninsula, pinched between the Mississippi Sound to the south and Biloxi Bay to the north, and it has long been the working heart of a city better known for its casino strip. The neighborhood is home to a substantial Vietnamese American community that took root through the Gulf Coast shrimping industry, and the result is a stretch of pho shops and banh mi counters that most visitors never find. Katrina reshaped the physical landscape dramatically, and vacant lots from that clearing still sit alongside new construction, making this one of the more genuinely affordable and centrally located areas left in Biloxi. Low elevation means flooding remains a real and recurring concern, but residents who stay tend to stay for good reason: authentic food, working waterfront culture, and proximity to the casinos without the tourist premium attached to everything.
