Brentwood Neighborhood Guide

Brentwood is a north-central Austin neighborhood defined by shaded bungalow streets, a genuine sense of community, and an easygoing pace that has made it one of the more quietly beloved pockets inside the city. Anchored by Burnet Road to the west and Lamar to the east, the neighborhood draws residents who spend weekends at Brentwood Park, linger over tacos and craft beer along nearby commercial strips, and generally prefer porches to patios. Colorful murals and longtime local spots like Bird Bird Biscuit and Violet Crown Social Club give the area a distinct personality without feeling self-consciously trendy. The tradeoff for that charm is real: ongoing construction and steadily rising home prices have made the bungalows that define Brentwood's character increasingly hard to come by.
