Hannah has spent her entire life in Illinois, learning early that the state is equal parts cornfields, quiet downtowns, and people claiming Chicago when they're really living a life in the burbs. She loves Mauve Cocktail Lounge treats, small town downtowns, travel books (she's been voraciously reading them since elementary school), ice cream at the OG Dairy Queen, and correcting grammar just for fun. At Snappy Scout, Hannah edits Illinois moving guides with decades of relocation experience, old soul wisdom, and just enough youthful energy to keep it practical.

What's the Weather Really Like in Bolingbrook?
The forecast, the fashion, and the fine print locals wish someone had told them sooner.
Summer temps be like
Surface-of-the-sun cosplay (mid to upper 80s, occasionally flirting with the low 90s), perfect for hiding in air-conditioned malls or backyard sprinklers.
Winter lows are
“Why do I live here again?” (Teens and low 20s, with bonus wind chills that make your cheeks scream).
The humidity makes me
Instantly reconsider every summer activity that isn’t poolside or air-conditioned.
Unique weather patterns
Classic Midwest mood swings - experience all four seasons in a single week. Spring tornado watches? Yep, everyone’s glued to weather apps while pretending to stay chill.
Local weather fashion tip
Layer like your life depends on it; morning and afternoon are basically different climate zones.
You know it's time to get out of town when
It’s the third polar vortex of February and you genuinely consider relocating to Florida just to feel your toes again.
Bugs be like
Mosquitos treat you like an all-you-can-eat buffet from June through September.
You're stuck indoors again today because
The heat index hit that magic number where going outside feels like walking into a hairdryer full of soup.
Green thumb enthusiasts love
The window between Mother’s Day and first frost, where tomatoes thrive and clay-heavy soil builds forearms like a free gym membership.
My Favorite Season in Bolingbrook
Fall - hands down. Temperatures are finally tolerable, the trees turn orange and gold, and pumpkin spice magically shows up everywhere (we aren't haters here). Soccer season is in full swing, strip malls get their cozy seasonal décor, and those early sunsets make evening walks feel a little extra peaceful. Honestly, fall in Bolingbrook is the sweet spot between summer chaos and winter misery, and it somehow makes all the I-55 traffic feel slightly worth it on my horrid commute home.
